Pretty decent right? He'll be 4 next month. I was proud. Not to be out done, the little one was playing today and chomped down on my finger. OUCH, sharp, little, pointy thing! Yep, first tooth. He'll be 5 months on the first and he's been drooling like a mad man so I knew something was coming. These boys are just growing so fast and instead of being sad I'm trying to enjoy every minute. One of the people I admire most, Kelle Hampton, from the blog Enjoying The Small Things, wrote the most beautiful post about accepting that our babies will grow and to find the beauty in it, not the sadness. If you're like me and needing that kind of wisdom right now, check her out here. I see the beauty, I really do but man, I'm still choking back the tears about my last baby growing so fast.
On to another big first... I started a Facebook page and Instagram for this little blog and teacher store on TpT. I've always wanted to but was scared I'd be in over my head. Ha, I am. It's been a learning experience but a fun one. It was also on my maternity leave bucket list so I'm happy to check it off! I'd be pleased as punch if you'd joint me over on FB and let me photobomb you through Instagram.

The last of my firsts is I'm currently working on my first really BIG project. Not really in terms of materials but in terms of clip art! Man, this thing is a monster. I'm learning a lot and having fun. I hope to have it posted this weekend so I can throw a big "I'm going back to work" sale. Last night I printed and laminated a piece of it, 26 pages! And then? I decided I didn't like it and changed the whole thing. OMG. I'm nuts. Here's a sneak peak at what it used to look like. ;)
So those are the firsts, here are the lasts. Yesterday was the LAST day I put up with our ridiculously slow internet! After attempting to load two products to TpT, nearly all day, and receiving error message after error message, I discovered that somehow they had actually loaded...four times each!!!
Oh my, I laughed so hard I cried (so I didn't kick anything). I went to our internet provider and managed to not only get a boost to our speed but also a $60 savings to our monthly bill. What the what?!! Good stuff, faster internet! This lady is surfing the internet on my laptop, Facebooking on my phone, and binge watching Netflix tonight! Woo hoo!
So, that leaves the biggest of the lasts... tonight is, in my mind, the last night of my maternity leave. I officially go back to school Monday but I'm going in tomorrow afternoon, after the kids are gone, to clean my room, make copies, and get my plans in order. So many mixed emotions. It's time. I know it is. I'm ready to get back to reality. I've had 20 weeks to pretend to be a stay-at-home mom and I've loved it. I know I'll look back on these times as some of the happiest of my life. However, I love my job too. I love my students, I love the creative outlet, I love the people I work with, I love the independence. I'm most scared about how I'm going to juggle it all but I'm hoping the anticipation is greater than the task. I've got an amazing husband and family. I know we'll figure this out. Hope my "kids" (students) are ready for me. Mrs. Wheat is baaaack! I'm looking forward to meeting my new group of Mini-Wheats. It will be like September...but in November! :)
Leaving these faces? Sigh.
Thanks for reading! If you're hunkered down to this early winter weather I hope you've got a big mug of hot coco with extra marshmallows.
